The condition for using the Webshop is that the Webshop customer (hereinafter referred to as the “Customer”) accepts these Terms.

The Finnish National Gallery is the largest art museum in Finland. We develop Finnish cultural heritage, promote artistic education and put on diverse exhibitions. We manage the national art collection and its archives. Our activities are governed by the National Gallery Act. The Finnish National Gallery manages three of Finland’s best-known museums. They are the Ateneum Art Museum, the Museum of Contemporary Art Kiasma and the Sinebrychoff Art Museum (hereinafter referred to as the “Museums”).

The Services of all of the Museums of the Finnish National Gallery are sold in this Webshop in accordance with the Terms.

General

The Finnish National Gallery is responsible for producing and delivering the Services, providing information related to the Services as well as any cancellations and/or changes to the Services.

The Service Provider acts only as a technical intermediary for the events and products. The Service Provider or the payment services used as part of its platform are not responsible for final access to the products or services if the Finnish National Gallery is, for example, unable to offer the sold product or service.

Order and order confirmation

The Services to be ordered are selected from the Webshop by adding them to the cart. When ordering, the Customer provides their name and email address. The order is submitted by paying for the contents of the cart using the Webshop’s checkout function. When placing an order, the Customer accepts these Terms, the prices of the products and the delivery costs. Upon ordering, an order confirmation of the ordered products and the price is sent to the email address provided by the Customer.

Prices

The prices of the Services shown in the webshop include VAT. When ordering, before the final acceptance of the order, the Customer can see the total price of the Services added to the cart and the VAT payable on the Services, broken down. The purchase of the Services does not involve other costs charged to the Customer, such as delivery costs.

Paying and payment methods

Paytrail Oyj (2122839-7) acts as the implementer of the payment gateway and as the payment service provider in cooperation with Finnish banks and credit institutions. Paytrail Oyj will be shown as the recipient on your bank or card statement and Paytrail Oyj will forward the payment to the merchant. Paytrail Oyj is an authorised payment institution. The payment method is selected when placing the order. The Finnish National Gallery does not store or obtain the Customer’s card or bank account information.

With the Paytrail service, you can pay using your online banking credentials and payment cards (credit/debit). The following payment methods are available: OP, Nordea, Danske Bank, Oma Savings Bank, Savings Bank, Aktia, POP Bank, S-Bank, Handelsbanken, Ålandsbanken, MobilePay, Visa, Visa Debit, Visa Electron, Masterpass and MasterCard cards, Walley, Epassi and Smartum.

All information concerning the payment transaction is transmitted using an encrypted connection.

Delivery of Services and documents

After the purchase, a document of the purchased Services is automatically sent to the email provided by the Customer. The email message contains the receipt as well as any other documents related to the Service as a PDF file. The documents may be presented at the venue and at the Service Provider’s counter on a smartphone screen or as a paper printout.

Please ensure to retain the above-mentioned receipt of the purchase transaction as well as the documents related to the Service, such as tickets, which were sent by email! When making a purchase, no account will be created in the Webshop from which the Customer could download the purchased receipts or service documents.

In addition to the message from the Service Provider, Paytrail will send a payment confirmation by email. If the Customer has purchased tickets via the Service Provider’s platform, please note that the payment confirmation is not a ticket to the Service.

Return and exchange of Services

When ordering Services, the Customer must always check the details of the Service (e.g. ticket) and the event. Services that have been paid for cannot be exchanged or returned after ordering.

The Finnish National Gallery or the Service Provider will not replace lost tickets or other documents related to the Service. If the Customer loses their ticket, they can report this to the Service Provider’s customer service, in which case the ticket can be redelivered to the Customer and the original ticket can be invalidated.

The customer is obliged to check the details related to the event, such as arrival instructions, performance times, age limits and opening hours, on the event page. The Finnish National Gallery is responsible for the cancellation or rescheduling of the event. Customers who have provided their email information when purchasing the Service that is being cancelled or rescheduled will be informed of this by email by the Finnish National Gallery or the Service Provider.

If a payment is refunded to the Customer due to an event being cancelled, the refund will be made primarily with the payment method used by the Customer. If the event is rescheduled and the new date is not suitable for the Customer, the refund will be made primarily with the payment method used by the Customer. If making the refund with this payment method is not possible, the payment will be refunded to the bank account indicated by the Customer.

Special tickets and purchase limits

If specially priced tickets (such as pensioner, student or other similar discount tickets) are available for the Service, the Customer or the ticket holder must be prepared to present a certificate entitling them to the discount upon entering the event.

If the event has a purchase limit, the Webshop has the right to cancel the sale and invalidate those tickets exceeding the purchase limit from the order. In case of problems, please contact the museum by email at:

Legislation applicable to the implementation of Services

The Finnish National Gallery undertakes to comply with the legislation in force in Finland in the contractual relationship between it and the Customer. With regard to distance selling, in cases where the implementation has been agreed to take place at a certain time (for example, a performance or a guided tour), the 14-day right of withdrawal that is part of consumer protection does not apply to a recreational service.

Settlement of disputes

This contract is governed by Finnish law, with the exception of its international conflict of laws provisions. Any disputes arising out of this contract and contractual relationship shall primarily be resolved through negotiation.

Consumer customers also have the right to refer disputes arising out of this contract to the Consumer Disputes Board. The Customer may also file a lawsuit regarding disputes arising out of this contractual relationship in the district court of Helsinki or in the district court of the Customer’s place of residence in Finland. If the Customer does not have a place of residence in Finland, disputes shall be handled in the Helsinki district court.
