We work together to preserve the art treasures of the Finnish people for future generations. We offer art experiences for everyone.

We do meaningful work and achieve our goals by working together. We value each other’s expertise and openly share our expert knowledge.

We make sure that our work community and museums are safe spaces for everyone. We strive for full accessibility in both our museums and our digital services.

Our museums are inspirational work places, with the flexible option of remote work in many positions.

Our values

Together

We have good workplace skills and practices. We follow the guidelines and operating models of the Finnish National Gallery, which are common to all.

Transparent

Our decision-making process is transparent. We give and receive feedback in a constructive way.

Professional

Our competence development is driven by our strategy. Our operations are based on knowledge, analysis and multidisciplinary expertise. Decisions are carefully prepared and made in a timely manner.

We have our own collective agreement. In addition to statutory benefits, the Finnish National Gallery offers all its employees:

  • the Epassi Flex benefit, which can be used for cultural, health, exercise or travel services
  • the Epassi lunch benefit
  • occupational health services that go beyond the statutory minimum
  • more days of holiday with more years of service
  • staff discounts at our museum shops and the Museoshop web shop

Furthermore, the entire staff are invited to the openings of our museums’ exhibitions. Employees can also explore our exhibitions during working hours.

We are an art museum for everyone. Our commitment to promoting diversity is visible to both our audiences and our employees.

  • We ensure equality in our work community, for example, through the application of the Ollaan ihmisiksi (Let’s behave) and the Elvi life-course management models.
  • We are constantly developing our work culture in accordance with our values (together, transparent, and professional).

In this way, we make sure that everyone can be themselves and feel safe at the Finnish National Gallery.
